About the role:

Trusted Media Brands is seeking a VP, Programmatic & Ad Operations to lead programmatic monetization strategy and advertising operations across our digital portfolio.

This leader will be responsible for maximizing programmatic revenue and yield, driving operational excellence across direct and programmatic advertising, and continuously evolving our advertising technology and monetization infrastructure. The VP will be accountable for programmatic revenue performance and will partner closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, and other teams to identify and execute opportunities for growth.

The ideal candidate combines deep programmatic and ad technology expertise with strong commercial judgment and people leadership. You understand how changes across the advertising ecosystem translate into revenue opportunities and risks, are highly analytical and comfortable operating against revenue targets, and can move fluidly between setting strategy and getting into the details of a technical or operational problem.

You will lead a high-performing team while serving as TMB’s internal subject-matter expert and external voice on programmatic advertising, ad technology, and the evolving digital advertising marketplace.

Responsibilities: What You’ll Do
  • Own and execute TMB’s web programmatic monetization strategy, driving revenue growth, yield optimization, and achievement of annual and monthly targets
  • Lead programmatic forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis in partnership with SVP, Websites & Revenue Operations and Finance, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and actions needed to deliver against plan
  • Develop and execute strategies across open auction, private marketplace, programmatic guaranteed, and other channels to maximize the value of TMB’s advertising inventory, using data and experimentation to optimize pricing, demand competition, fill, CPMs, viewability, and overall revenue
  • Own the strategy and evolution of TMB’s programmatic technology stack and supply path, including header bidding, SSP and exchange partnerships, Google Ad Manager, identity and addressability solutions, and other monetization technology
  • Manage and evaluate programmatic partners and vendors, optimizing partner mix, commercial terms, integrations, bidder and demand-partner performance, and overall contribution to the business
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Ad Operations organization supporting direct, programmatic direct, and programmatic revenue across web, streaming, social, and other emerging channels
  • Establish scalable processes, automation, quality-assurance protocols, and tooling, including AI-enabled solutions—that improve operational efficiency and reduce under-delivery, billing discrepancies, trafficking errors, and technical delivery issues
  • Partner with Sales and Sales Operations to enable revenue, including supporting complex or high-value opportunities, evaluating inventory availability and feasibility, developing advertiser solutions, and growing TMB’s programmatic direct business through programmatic guaranteed and PMP strategy
  • Serve as the primary programmatic and Ad Operations partner to Product, Engineering, and Data, influencing roadmaps, leading advertising QA for site, app, and platform releases, and ensuring monetization, user experience, and revenue considerations are incorporated into product and platform decisions
  • Maintain advertising quality, brand safety, compliance, and transparency across TMB’s portfolio, including ad-quality platforms, advertiser and category controls, block lists, escalation processes, ads.txt, sellers.json, privacy and consent requirements, and other evolving industry standards
  • Maintain a strong pulse on changes in privacy, identity, addressability, platforms, formats, and buying behavior, translating market developments into recommendations for TMB leadership
  • Represent TMB with programmatic partners, vendors, agencies, and other external stakeholders, developing strong relationships and advocating for TMB’s business interests
Qualifications: What You’ll Bring
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in programmatic advertising, digital monetization, Ad Operations, ad technology, or related fields, including significant leadership responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience owning and growing programmatic revenue for a digital publisher, media company, platform, or similarly complex advertising business, including forecasting, budgeting, KPI management, and performance reporting
  • Deep expertise in the programmatic ecosystem, including SSPs and exchanges, DSPs, header bidding, open auction, PMPs, programmatic guaranteed, identity and addressability, supply-path optimization, and advertising quality and compliance
  • Advanced experience with Google Ad Manager and strong familiarity with major programmatic platforms and partners such as Google, Magnite, Index Exchange, and others
  • Strong understanding of yield management and revenue optimization, with the analytical ability to diagnose performance, identify opportunities, evaluate tradeoffs, and make sound commercial decisions using BI, analytics, reporting, and spreadsheet tools
  • Experience leading, developing, and scaling high-performing Programmatic and/or Ad Operations teams
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Sales, Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive business outcomes and influence roadmaps
  • Strong technical fluency, including the ability to troubleshoot ad technology and integrations, communicate effectively with engineers, and translate complex ad-tech concepts into clear business implications for non-technical audiences
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to develop and articulate a clear point of view, influence decision-making, and represent the company with technology partners, vendors, agencies, and clients
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment, balancing long-term strategy with hands-on problem-solving, experimentation, and rapidly changing business priorities
